A study by the University of Hamburg shows that people who experience a forest environment using VR headsets feel better and perform better afterward than after viewing virtual urban environments.
“Natural environments such as forests or green spaces have a positive effect on health and well-being,” according to researchers from the Human-Computer Interaction working group led by Prof. Dr. Frank Steinicke.
The study also shows that simply viewing photos or 360° videos of natural environments measurably improves mood and cognitive performance compared to urban scenarios.
