The latest Stress Report 2025 from Techniker Krankenkasse (available here) shows that around 66% of people in Germany are frequently or occasionally stressed in their everyday and professional lives – an increase compared to 2013, when the figure was 57%. Women are particularly affected, and prolonged stress has been shown to have a negative impact on health and well-being, for example through back pain, muscle tension, sleep disorders, or emotional exhaustion, which occur significantly more frequently than in people who are rarely stressed. It is therefore becoming increasingly important for employers to offer accessible ways to relax directly at the workplace during periods of high stress.
It is of little help if employees know that relaxation activities such as yoga, walks, or hobbies are beneficial, but these are not practical during work hours—after all, 83% of respondents say that walks and nature experiences are important strategies for coping with stress, but these are difficult to achieve during a short lunch break. On the other hand, low-threshold digital solutions that can be used directly in everyday working life and enable quick relaxation are effective. One example of this is the new “Mindfulness Room” at the Furth im Wald specialist clinic, where employees can use VR-supported stress reduction programs from Magic Horizons Medical VR. These evidence-based applications promote relaxation, can be used flexibly during breaks, and immediately strengthen mental well-being. Through such offerings, employers create a tangible tool for stress management that truly benefits employees—without them having to invest additional time or effort. Especially in professions with high responsibility and continuous stress, this is a crucial step in promoting long-term health and motivation within the team.
